History

In search of the "American Dream," 13 year old James Dremonas made a move from Greece to Chicago that would change his life and result in a grocery empire.  Working at a small produce stand on the Southside of Chicago James knew there was more.  He put his work ethic and determination to use and turned that small produce stand into Pete's Fresh Market.

Founder and Owner, James, knew three things while growing his business. He wanted to maintain a sense of community in the neighborhood of every location, he wanted to feature the freshest and best quality products, and he would have the utmost respect for his customers.  Eight stores later, these values still hold strong and can be seen in each and every employee workin in each department of every store.

Pete's strives to stand apart from competitors by maintaing close relationships with the communities it joins.  James understands the importance of catering to the needs of the community. Every store is unique in that you will never find the same store with the same exact products twice.  Each store stocks its shelves with the items that are most important to that neighborhood.
